There are a few things you need to know in order to prepare you for your tattoo appointment, speed up the process and limit the level of pain you on the day.
Get a good night sleep the night before your tattoo.
Have a big breakfast/lunch one hour prior to your appointment.
Shave the area you are getting tattooed in the morning of your appointment.
DO NOT take drugs or alcohol within 24 hours of your tattoo
DO NOT come in without eating before your tattoo.
After the tattoo session, protective film will be applied to protect the tattoo until you get home.
The Protective film:
Is to be kept not less than 2 hours and not more than 4 hours.
Your skin is already starting the healing process. Since it is like an open wound it will bleed out some plasma; this is a normal reaction. What is important is to treat the tattoo like an open wound by protecting it by following the directions below.
Once the film is removed, wash the tattoo with clean hands, antibacterial soap and warm water.
To dry the tattoo, avoid rubbing with a towel but gently blot with kitchen paper.
Remove the film for good and never use it again.
Apply a dollop of cream (without overdoing it) on the tattoo. DO NOT overdo it, Less Is More.
Repeat three times a day for two weeks.
Always wash your hands before touching the tattoo. Wash it at least three times a day.
Use clean clothes and sheets during the healing process.
Gently slap the tattoo once it has reached the itchy stage. Absolutely DO NOT scratch or remove the scabs; they will fall off on their own.
For best performance over time, the use of a UV cream during sun exposure is recommended.
Do not touch the tattoo with dirty hands.
Do not scratch or peel off any peels that are created.
Do not wear tight-fitting clothes that rub directly on the tattoo, for two weeks.
Do not immerse tattoo in a bathtub, swimming pool or the sea, be careful of sand and animal hair, for two weeks.
